Throughout the festival week, other activities include:

  • Activities of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence with partners (changing communication scopes, lighting buildings, events with executive councils, etc.)
  • Activities of tolerance committees in federal and local government entities
  • Activities of tolerance clubs in universities
  • Activities and events of the Knights of Tolerance program Media campaign with partners (traditional and digital) (television, radio, social media, printed and digital publications, etc.)

The National Festival of Tolerance

The National Festival of Tolerance will feature inclusive public events and outcome-oriented Forums. The public events will provide ample opportunity for everyone to appreciate the value of difference and diversity across culture, art, music, sport, and other aspects that contribute to the vibrant tapestry of the UAE. The Forums, in which participation is by invitation only, will facilitate meaningful exchange among the country’s youth, women, expatriate community leaders, and others essential to the dialogue. Importantly, prominent global experts and Nobel laureates will also help shape the way forward.

Government's role as an incubator of tolerance

This initiative aims to promote cultural understanding and coexistence by bringing together diverse groups to visit significant sites on the Zayed Path of Tolerance, symbolizing values of tolerance and unity in the UAE.

Participation in the 'UAE as the Land of Tolerance' Conference

Location: United Arab Emirates University

Time: 10:00 AM

This highlights the Ministry’s involvement in a conference hosted by UAE University to promote the UAE’s principles of tolerance and coexistence.

Religious and Cultural Dialogue Forum between the UAE and Austria

Location: Abrahamic Family House

Time: 10:00 AM

Day 1:
The forum hosts a group of thought leaders from Austria (a certain number of religious and cultural figures) alongside a group of prominent individuals from the UAE. The discussions focus on topics of cultural and civilizational diversity. The forum begins with a field visit to the Abrahamic Family House, followed by an opening session attended by His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan and the head of the Austrian delegation. A joint cooperation agreement between the UAE and Austria is signed, followed by a series of discussion sessions on topics such as:

  • Religious and cultural relations in the UAE from an Austrian perspective,
  • Religious and cultural relations in Austria from a UAE perspective,
  • Tolerance and joint cooperation,
  • Faith, mutual understanding, and acceptance,
  • Youth and education.

Day 2:
Exploring the landmarks of the Zayed Path of Tolerance in Abu Dhabi, including Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Qasr Al Watan, the Founder’s Memorial, the National Archives, and more.

Day 3:
Morning: Visiting the Zayed Path of Tolerance landmarks in Al Ain.
Evening: Attending the opening events of the National Festival of Tolerance.

Tolerance Walk

Location: University of Wollongong in Dubai

Time: 10:00 AM

The University of Wollongong in Dubai is organizing a Tolerance March as part of the participation of university tolerance clubs, with 1,000 male and female students participating in collaboration with Heriot-Watt University and Middlesex University, and coordinated by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence. The Ministry’s support will include providing educational content and media coverage for the event.

Zayed Tolerance Trail

Location: Abu Dhabi~ Al Ain

Organizing visits for groups from different religions and ethnicities to visit the landmarks of the Zayed Tolerance Trail in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Opening of the Festival and Launch of “Zayed’s Gardens for Tolerance”

Location: Umm Al Emarat Park

Time: 10:00 AM

The guest of honor for this year’s National Festival of Tolerance is South Korea. Upon the arrival of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak and the participating delegations to the park, they will tour various cultural activities featuring art and music and visit the Tolerance and Coexistence Mural, which displays a diverse collection of images and media that showcase the country’s cultural diversity.

The opening ceremony will begin with the UAE national anthem, with participation from all segments of the UAE community. A group called “Voices of Tolerance,” comprising individuals of different ages and nationalities, will perform, followed by the Tolerance and Human Brotherhood Choir. Then, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan and a representative from the South Korean Embassy will deliver speeches, followed by Emirati and Korean cultural performances.

Everyone will participate in a Tolerance March toward the location of the “Zayed Gardens for Tolerance” initiative launch. His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan will unveil the initiative’s model, tour the first garden, and plant a sapling there. This garden will feature a variety of Emirati and Korean plants and flowers. The cultural activities will continue until 10:00 PM.

The annual introductory meeting for tolerance clubs in universities
